Biography
The Honourable Wayne Ewasko was first elected as the MLA for Lac du Bonnet in 2011, and was re-elected in 2016 and 2019. He served as Chair of the Government Caucus from 2016 until his appointment as Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Immigration.
Minister Ewasko is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Education Degree as well as a Post baccalaureate Degree in Education. Prior to his election to the Manitoba Legislature, he worked for 17 years as a teacher and guidance counsellor in the Sunrise School Division. In 2008, he received the Teacher of Distinction Award from Brandon University.
Minister Ewasko grew up on a farm in the Brokenhead area near Beausejour. Together, he and his wife Tracey have two wonderful sons. He is an active member of his community, having served as a volunteer with a number of organizations including the Beausejour Lions Club.
