Manitoba Estate File Index

This index was created by the Archives of Manitoba to facilitate access to estate files and associated probate records for deceased individuals whose estates were probated in a Manitoba court. The index covers files from 1870 up to and including 1984. (Note that both this index and the Court Registry may need to be consulted for 1984 files.)

The index includes names, year of probate (which may be different from the year of death), the court in which the estate was probated, the file number and, in some cases, book and folio numbers. All of this information is needed in order to find the estate file and associated probate records.

Once you have located a file number, proceed to Step 2, Find the location code.
