Farmers and other members of the agriculture industry are encouraged to participate in Open Farm Day to share information about the diversity and importance of Manitoba’s farms. Open Farm Day is your opportunity to showcase how today’s farms are managed and the positive impact of agriculture on our communities. It’s also a chance for farmers and others with farm-based businesses to reach new customers, and potentially create opportunities for economic growth and diversification.

Open Farm Day is an opportunity for Manitobans to connect directly with farms, ranches, and market gardens across the province. The deadline for farms and other sites to register for the 2018 even is closed.  The application is available HERE. Host farms/sites will be provided with signs, posters and promotional materials.

In 2015, the 37 Host Farms that participated in Open Farm Day attracted more than 6,500 visitors. There were 44 host sites in 2016 and 46 host sites in 2017.  Each year, farm sites with livestock, grain, and fruit or vegetables can participate, as well as agri-tourism, horticultural and farm-focused agribusinesses.

Many sites provide demonstrations, recreational activities, tours, and other events as part of the Open Farm Day event.
